Oilers Place 12th At Regional

The University of Findlay men's and women's cross country teams completed the Midwest Regional on Saturday, November 20 in Louisville, Kentucky. The women's team placed 12th while the men took 15th.

On the women's side,

Brier Sterling finished 30th (22:43.60) and Christine Zimmerman was 40th (22:55.05) to pace the team.

Katherine McHenry (23:48.30) placed 79th, Lindsey Schmitmeyer (23:56.39) 88th, Abigail Magner (24:18.78) 106th, Alexa Stults (24:49.29) 117th and Rachel Hosie (25:14.93) 127th.

Grand Valley won the event with 26 points, while Ferris State (79) placed second and Hillsdale (138) finished third.

On the men's side, Shoayb Bascal, Sean Jones and Justin Eilerman finished in close formation, placing 62nd, 64th and 65th respectively to pace the team as all three recorded times that ranked better than the previous school record in the event.

Bascal cross the line in 33:17.09, followed by Jones (33:19.92) and Eilerman (33:23.33). Brock Lloyd (33:55.26) was 88th, Tim Majoy (33:03.44) 95th, Jordan Kirwen (34:28.55) 106th and Joe Guerra (36:14.32) 126th for UF.

Grand Valley won the event (21 points) while Southern Illinois (81) placed second and Bellarmine (126) finished in the third position.
