Oilers Compete at #JennaStrong Classic

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic held at Wilmington College on Friday, October 17.

Women:

Freshman Taylor Bolinger led the way for the Oilers with her fifth place finish. Her time of 18:53 ties her for the 15th fastest 5k time in Findlay history.

Sophomore Melanie Ruich was next across the line for the Oilers as she finished 31st with a time of 19:24. Junior Samantha Grippe crossed the line ten seconds later and finished in 19:34, good enough for 37th. Junior Erica Bettac finished in 52nd with a time of 19:48 and junior Meredith Hoops came in four spots later in 56th with a time of 19:51.

The final finisher in the top 100 for Findlay was junior MaKenzie Mahlmeister who finished in 70th with a time of 20:02.

The team finished in fourth place out of 43 teams.

Men:

Senior Jacob Hayes led the way for the men with his fourth place finish in a time of 25:33. The time ties him with the 8th fastest time in Oilers history.

Freshman Matias Trampe-Kindt was next for Findlay as he finished 65th in a time of 27:05.

Other finishers were freshman Sean Stockmaster (122, 27:58), sophomore Aaron Cingle (128, 28:02), and junior Derek Bornhorst (146, 28:18).

As a team, the men finished in 11th of 38.

Both teams are off until the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship that takes place on Friday, November 3.
