Oilers Compete in Lewis Cross Over

The University of Findlay cross country teams traveled to Romeoville, Ill. on Saturday, Oct. 10 for the Lewis Cross Over Invitational.

Men's Results

The Oiler men were paced by freshman Jonathan Allen (26:30.37) who finished 49th and sophomore Matias Trampe-Kindt (26:34.96) who finished 50th.

A trio of freshman finished close behind, as Ty Gleason (26:48.39) finished 61st, Austin Guthrie (27:12.83) crossed the end line at 66th, and Michael Taylor (27:30.06) earned a 68th place finish.

Also participating were freshman Troy Schultz (27:34.09), junior Aaron Cingle (27:42.10), junior Reid Wolin (28:04.17), freshman Tyler Beck (28:38.74), sophomore John Davis (30:03.67), freshman Dylan Jacobs (31:25.30), and freshman Hobie Cotsamire (31:55.29).

The Oiler men finished tenth with 294 points.

Women's Results

The Oiler women were led by 14th place finisher junior Melanie Ruich (22:31.60). Senior Meredith Hoops (23:52.69) was the next teammate to cross the finish line to earn 43rd place.

Sophomore Taylor Bolinger (24:56.53) finished 56th, senior McKenzie Mahlmeister (25:21.87) earned 63rd place, and freshman Torrie Purdy (26:15.40) finished 71st to round out the scoring for Findlay.

Also participating for the Oilers were freshman Heidi Paxson (27:23.26) and junior Kailey Coleman (27:40.20).

The Oiler women finished tenth with 247 points.

The University of Findlay cross country teams return to action on Saturday, Oct. 24 for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) championship in Milford, Mich.  It is scheduled to begin at 11am.
