Cross Country Kicks Off 2016 Season

The University of Findlay men and women cross country teams opened up the 2016 season on Fri., Sep. 2 at Bluffton University for the Back to the Nature Preserve Cross Country Invitational.

Men Results

Setting the pace for the Oilers was sophomore Jonathan Allen (19:08.28) who finished in 3rd place.  Finishing close behind was junior Matias Trampe-Kindt (19:30.25) in 8th and sophomore Tyler Beck (19:38.06) earned 11th.  Rounding out the scoring for Findlay was sophomore Michael Taylor (20:18.67) in 25th and sophomore Austin Guthrie (20:18.67) at 26th.

Also competing for the Oilers was sophomore Troy Schultz (20:54.27) who finished 40th and freshman Nick Korducki (21:09.60) claimed 50th.

The men's team finished in second place out of nine teams with 69 total points. 

Women's Results

Junior Taylor Bolinger led the women with a 2nd place finish of 18:45.67, which ranks her 12th in the Findlay record books.  Not far behind were, senior Melanie Ruich, who claimed 5th (19:19.31) and freshman Madisen Borer, who earned 7th (19:36.22)

Rounding out the scoring for the Oilers were senior Nicole Burlison in 15th (20:17.37) and freshman Madilyn Greiner in 17th (20:28.81). 

Also competing for Findlay was sophomore Torrie Purdy (20:48.58, 23rd), freshman Jenna Shipman (20:50.54, 25th), senior Maud Sanmiquel (21:05.48, 32nd), freshman Sidney Towalski (21:52.78, 50th), freshman Aubreah Manns (21:56.82, 51st), senior Kailey Coleman (22:44.84, 58th), sophomore Megan Martz (22:47.27, 59th), sophomore Heidi Paxson (24:03.85, 75th), and freshman Maggie Kise (24:09.82, 76th).

The Oiler women finished in first place out of eight teams with 46 total points.

The University of Findlay men and women cross country teams are back in action on Sat., Sep. 10 in Northville, Mich. for the Running Fit Detroit Titan Invitational.
