Oilers Earn USTFCCCA Academic Awards

Findlay, OH – On Thursday, Feb. 9, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the all-academic cross country teams from the fall of 2016. In order qualify as all-academic, teams must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must have scored at an NCAA Division II regional meet.

The Oilers men and women each earned this distinction. Findlay's men had a GPA of 3.48 and were one of 115 teams in the country to earn all-academic status while the women combined for a 3.72 GPA and were one of 156 all-academic teams in the country.

In addition, the Oilers placed a pair of athletes earn individual all-academic honors. Criteria for that honor was a 3.25 GPA or higher and a finish in the top 30 percent of eligible runners at the regional championship. Junior Taylor Bolinger and sophomore Jonathan Allen each earned the distinction.
