Football Announces 2019 Schedule
Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay football program has released their slate of games for the 2019 season. The Oilers will play six home games and five games on the road.
The Oilers open the season on the road on Thursday, Sep. 5 against 2018 National Championship participant Ferris State University. That game will begin at 7:30 pm.
Ten days later, on Sep. 14, Findlay will hold their home opener under the lights against Northwood University. 7:00 is the scheduled time for kickoff.
Conference play will begin on Sep. 21 at Ohio Dominican University in a game that starts at 12:00 pm.
The Oilers then have the chance to play back-to-back home games as they welcome Alderson Broaddus on Sep. 28 and Kentucky Wesleyan on Oct. 5.
Findlay then heads to Walsh on Oct. 12 before returning home to take on the reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) champion, Hillsdale College Chargers on Oct. 19.
It's back on the road for the next two weeks as the Oilers head to take on 2018 NCAA Semifinalist Notre Dame College at noon on Oct. 26 and on Nov. 2 head to Painesville to play Lake Erie College.
The regular season wraps up with a pair of home games, first on Nov. 9 against former Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Ashland University which fills the gap left after Malone announced the removal of their football program. On Nov. 16 the regular season concludes with a home contest against G-MAC rival Tiffin University. Each of those final two home games kicks off at noon.
The NCAA DII Playoffs begin on Nov. 23 and advance round-by-round until the national championship which takes place on Dec. 21.
"We believe we have put together an extremely competitive schedule. We have road games against two national semifinalists from last year, including one that was a few plays away from a national title. Couple that with games against Northwood and Ashland and that's one of the tougher out-of-conference lineups in the country", commented head coach Rob Keys. "Then you have the G-MAC schedule that includes another playoff team and, league-wide is getting better every year. There's no doubt that these 11 weeks will be a grind, but we're looking forward to it."
