Demler and Winzeler Earn G-MAC Player of the Week Honors

Findlay, Ohio – After a 31-21 handling of Northwood this past Saturday, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) has handed out two of their Football Player of the Week awards to Oilers on Monday, Sep. 16. Junior Chris Demler has earned Special Teams Player of the Week while junior Matt Winzeler took Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Demler earned the award after a game in which he had one PAT, one made field goal, and averaged almost 60 yards per kickoff on six attempts. Of the six Northwood possessions that began as results of Demler's kickoffs, the Timberwolves only managed points one time.

Offensively, quarterback Matt Winzeler completed 15-of-25 passes in the game for 236 yards. He threw three touchdowns and had the highest efficiency rating of all G-MAC quarterbacks in the second week of the season.
