Jason Moore Promoted to Chargers' 53-Man Roster

Findlay, Ohio – On Saturday, Oct 12, University of Findlay graduate Jason Moore was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL).

Moore was initially signed to the Chargers as an undrafted free agent back in April and earned a spot on their practice squad in September after spending time in preseason camp.

Richard Wade, a writer for Bolts from the Blue an LA Chargers news site says, " Jason Moore was pegged by Michael Peterson as the team's most intriguing offensive undrafted rookie free agent this offseason...Moore is a big-bodied wide receiver of the sort the Chargers have loved in recent years. He showed decent straight-line speed at his Pro Day (4.57 40-yard dash), but it was his three-cone time that really stood out at 6.62 seconds. Overall, he was an interesting developmental player and he will potentially get a chance to show the team he belongs on Sunday."

While at Findlay, Moore, a two-time first-team all-league selection and one time all-American, rewrote the record books and graduates as the best receiver to ever don the Orange and Black. In his four years of action, Moore played in 37 games and tallied a school record 204 receptions, 3,217 yards, and 39 touchdowns. Despite playing in just the final four games of 2018, Moore picked up a team-high 495 yards through the air and set a career-high at 123.8 receiving yards per game.

Moore's first taste of action will come tomorrow when the Chargers play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
