Oilers Win 8th Straight | Beat Battlers 79-72

The University of Findlay men's basketball team captured their eighth straight victory with a 79-72 win over Alderson Broaddus University on Dec. 19 in Croy Gymnasium. The win gives the Oilers a 12-2 record on the season with a 7-0 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers connected on 48.5 percent (32-of-66) of their shot attempts in the contest while the Battlers converted 49.2 percent (31-of-63) of their field goal attempts. Alderson Broaddus also made ten three pointers in the game while the Oilers defense came away with seven steals.

Senior guard Martyce Kimbrough paced the Oilers with 24 points on 9-of-18 shooting. He also added four rebounds and made 6-of-10 attempts from three point range in the game.

Senior forward Taren Sullivan had 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting and also recorded six rebounds and three assists.

Senior guard Elijah Kahlig reached double figures with 11 points while junior forward Alex White had ten points, four rebounds and a career-high four steals in the victory.

Mike Davis led the Battlers with 22 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 28 when they host Goshen College at 6pm in Croy Gymnasium.
