#23 Oilers Roll to 113-78 Victory

The University of Findlay men's basketball team rolled to a 113-78 win over Goshen College on Dec. 28 in Croy Gymnasium. The win gives the 23rd-ranked Oilers a 13-2 record on the season.

The Oilers jumped on the Maple Leafs early as they built a 65-37 lead at the break behind a dominant showing from three point range. The Oilers hit 12 three pointers in the first half and shot 65.8 percent (25-of-38) from the field in the opening period.

Findlay cruised through the second half and ended the game by hitting 57.9 percent (44-of-76) of their field goal attempts. They also canned a season-high 17-of-35 (48.6%) attempts from behind the three point line and dished out 28 assists in the victory.

The Oilers, who had a season-high 13 steals in the game, were led by senior guard Martyce Kimbrough. Kimbrough paced six Findlay players in double figures with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting.

Freshman forward Anthony Masterlasco came off the bench to score 15 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and three steals while junior forward Alex White had 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Senior forward Taren Sullivan stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals while junior guard Trey Smith had 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting.

Senior guard Elijah Kahlig also reached double figures with 11 points and added three rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in the game.

The Maple Leafs were led by Christian Grider's game-high 22 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 2 when they host Ohio Dominican University at 6pm in Croy Gymnasium.
