#18 Oilers Earn 16th Win | Beat Panthers 68-49

The 18th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team improved to 16-3 on the season with a 68-49 win over Kentucky Wesleyan College on Jan. 26 in Owensboro, Ky. The win pushes the Oilers Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) record to 10-2 as well.

The Oilers held the Panthers to a mere 37.0 percent (17-of-46) shooting clip and came away with eight steals in the game. They also outrebounded the Panthers by a 38-29 margin and shot 44.4 percent (28-of-63) from the floor.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser recorded a double-double to lead the Oilers, finishing with 14 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.

Senior forward Alex White nearly recorded a double-double with 12 points and eight rebounds while sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco reached double figures with ten points on a 5-of-6 showing from the floor.

Senior guard Trey Smith, freshman guard Ethan Linder, and freshman forward Deven Stover each had eight points while sophomore forward Chazz George had six points and five rebounds.

Sophomore guard Tommy Schmock finished with only two points, but had eight assists in the victory.

The Panthers were led by Deng Mayot's 13 points.

The Oilers will now return home to host Cedarville University on Jan. 31. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m. in the Croy Physical Education Center.
