Hot Shooting Flyers Defeat Oilers

The University of Findlay men's basketball team fell to 1-4 on the season with an 85-77 loss to Lewis University on Nov. 25 in Niekamp Arena.

The Flyers shot a blistering 56.1 percent (32-of-57) from the field and canned 15-of-25 (60%) attempts from behind the three point line. The Oilers meanwhile hit 49.2 percent (31-of-63) of their shot attempts and made only 9-of-28 (32.1%) tries from three point range in the loss.

Sophomore guard Ethan Linder led the Oilers with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting while freshman forward Nathan Bruns had 14 points and four boards.

Freshman guard Joey Edmonds came off the bench to provide 14 points on the strength of a 4-of-5 showing from three point range while junior forward Anthony Masterlasco had 13 points and six rebounds.

Junior guard Tommy Schmock nearly reached double figures with seven points. He also added seven assists and three steals in the game.

The Flyers were led by Anthony D'Avanzo and Dre Bell's 24 and 21 points, respectively.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow when they host Carlow University at 7pm.
