Oilers Fall Short at Hillsdale

The University of Findlay men's basketball team fell 77-65 to Hillsdale College on Dec. 14 in Hillsdale, Mich. The loss gives the Oilers a 4-5 record on the season with a 2-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Chargers shot 51.7 percent (30-of-58) from the floor and canned 10-of-21 (47.6%) of their three point tries in the game. The Oilers meanwhile hit 45.8 percent (27-of-59) of their shots, but made only 6-of-21 (28.6%) attempts from behind the three point line.

Sophomore guard Ethan Linder paced the Oilers with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting while junior forward Anthony Masterlasco had 11 points and four boards.

Senior forward Aaron Overhiser nearly recorded a double-double with ten points and eight rebounds while junior guard Tommy Schmock and freshman forward Nathan Bruns had eight and six points, respectively.

Patrick Cartier led the Chargers with 24 points and ten rebounds while Davis Larson had 17 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 17 when they host the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 7pm in Niekamp Arena.
