Oilers Down Dragons for 6th Straight Win

The University of Findlay men's basketball team came away with an 84-65 win over Tiffin University on Jan. 11 in Tiffin, Ohio. The win, which was the Oilers sixth straight, puts their record at 10-5 on the year with a 5-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers ended the game by hitting 52.9 percent (36-of-68) of their attempts from the floor, which included a 7-of-18 (38.9%) showing from three point range. They also held the Dragons to 37.5 percent (24-of-64) shooting clip and outscored Tiffin 56-26 in the paint.

Freshman forward Nathan Bruns led five Findlay players in double figures with a career-high 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting while junior guard Tommy Schmock continued his solid all-around play with 15 points, eight assists, four steals, and three rebounds.

Junior forward Anthony Masterlasco finished with 12 points and six rebounds while junior forward Chazz George had a season-high 12 points to go along with a career-high six assists and four rebounds.

Senior forward Aaron Overhiser was the other Oilers player in double figures with 11 points while senior forward Andrew Emrick had six.

Sophomore guard Ethan Linder only scored five points in the win, but contributed a career-high 11 points to go along with four assists.

The Dragons were led by Joshua Williams' game-high 24 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 16 when they host Trevecca Nazarene University at 7pm in Niekamp Arena.
