The University of Findlay men's basketball team survived a strong test in Owensboro, Ky. with a 59-56 win over Kentucky Wesleyan College on Feb. 6. The win gives the Oilers a 15-6 record on the season with a 10-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers struggled to put the ball in the hole for most of the game and ended the contest by hitting 42.9 percent (24-of-56) of their shot attempts. They also made only 4-of-15 (26.7%) tries from three point range and 7-of-13 (53.8%) attempts from the free throw line. Findlay's defense was stout during the win as they limited the Panthers to a 38.8 percent (19-of-49) shooting clip

Sophomore guard Ethan Linder led the Oilers with 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting while senior forward Aaron Overhiser had ten points on 5-of-6 shooting.

Junior forward Chazz George came off the bench to provide eight points while junior forward Anthony Masterlasco and junior guard Tommy Schmock had seven points apiece.

The Panthers were led by Wyatt Battaile's 23 points and 12 rebounds.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday when they face Trevecca Nazarene University at 5:15 p.m. in Nashville, Tenn.
