The University of Findlay men's basketball team won their seventh straight game, beating Lake Erie College by a score of 72-64 on Feb. 20 in Painesville, Ohio. The victory pushes the Oilers record to 19-6 on the season with a 14-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).
The Oilers shot 50 percent (28-of-56) from the floor and made 7-of-19 (36.8%) attempts from three point range. They also limited the Storm to a 38.3 percent (23-of-60) shooting clip and outscored them 40-26 in the paint.
Junior guard Tommy Schmock led the way with 19 points, four assists, and four steals while freshman forward Nathan Bruns had 13 points and four boards.
Sophomore guard Ethan Linder reached double figures with 12 points to go along with five rebounds while junior forward Anthony Masterlasco had eight points and a career-high ten rebounds.
Senior forward Andrew Emrick came off the bench to provide eight points on 4-of-5 shooting and freshman guard Joey Edmonds finished with five points.
The Storm were led by Gabe Kynard's 24 points.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Feb. 26 when they head to Cedarville University for a 7:45 p.m. contest.
