Oilers Fall 59-54 to Hillsdale

The University of Findlay men's basketball team fell 59-54 against Hillsdale College on Feb. 29 in Niekamp Arena. The loss gives the Oilers a 20-7 record on the season with a 15-3 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers struggled to score in the contest and shot only 36.1 percent (22-of-61) from the floor. They made only 2-of-21 (9.5%) tries from behind the three point line and were outrebounded 42-35.

Junior Tommy Schmock led the way with 14 points, seven assists, and four rebounds while senior Aaron Overhiser had 12 points and seven boards.

Senior Andrew Emrick came off the bench to provide ten points and four rebounds while juniors Chazz George and Anthony Masterlasco had five points apiece.

The Chargers were led by Patrick Cartier and Connor Hill, who each scored 16 points apiece.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Tuesday, Mar. 3 when they host a G-MAC quarterfinal contest against an opponent to be determined.
