Oilers Final Round Comeback Falls Just Short

Tiffin, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's golf program competed in the final round of the Kyle Ryman Invitational on Tuesday, October 8 in Tiffin, Ohio. The Oilers started the round 11 strokes behind leader, Tiffin University, and finished in a tie for second with a 54-hole score of 878 (292-296-290).

Senior Sam Griffith concluded the tournament with a 54-hole total of 217 (+1). His individual performance placed him in third for the tournament after scores of 70,72, and 75. Senior Luke Kelly made a move in the final round with a 68 (-4) to finish out the tournament in a tie for 6th. His three-round total of 221 also included a 78 and 75. Sophomore Hunter Foltz also finished in a tie for 6th with a 221 (75-72-74).

Sophomore Caleb Westfall placed 11th with a score of 222 (73-75-74) and junior Parker Haynes finished just behind in 12th from a total of 223 (76-74-73).

Freshman Connor Ohlrich (76-75-73), senior Peyton Cooper (74-74-76), and freshman Holden Scribner (76-71-77) tied for 13th. Seniors Grant Ricketts (75-77-74) and Cameron Bruce (76-74-76) placed in a tie for 21st.

Rounding out the Oilers were Junior Brock Kehres (78-77-74) and sophomore Tanner Grzegorczyk (73-77-79) tied for 31st and senior Drew Prater (78-77-76) and freshman Jack Soper (76-79-76) tied for 36th. 

The Oilers conclude their fall season on October 13-14 in Dearborn, Mich. at the Motor City Invitational.
