Men's Soccer Defeats Timberwolves on Senior Day

Findlay, OH- The University of Findlay men's soccer team defeated the Northwood University Timberwolves on their senior day Wednesday, October 26, 2016. This win gives the Oilers a 7-8-1 overall record and a 6-7-1 record in the conference.

With nineteen minutes left to go in the first half, sophomore Josh Burton took a shot far outside the box and buried the ball in the top left corner to give the Oilers the lead 1-0.

At the end of the first half, the Oilers had three shots with three shots on goal to the Timberwolves' five shots and one shot on goal.

The Oilers battled in the second half to keep the Timberwolves out of the net to keep the lead.

In the second half, the Oilers defense lead by freshman Kegan Winkler and junior goalkeeper Ben Richter shut out the Timberwolves to win the game 1-0.

At the end of the game, the Oilers had four shots with three shots on goal to the Timberwolves' ten shots with three shots on goal. 

Junior goalkeeper Ben Richter had three saves to Northwood's two saves.  Ben Richter is now 5-2 on the year to lead the Oilers to the win.

The Oilers will take the field again on Friday, October 28 at Ashland University at 7:00pm to take on the Eagles.
