Oilers Soccer Wall of Fame Scheduled for Oct. 5

The university's greatest soccer players are recognized and memorialized at DeHaven Game Field. Each year the selection committee decides which player or players will be permanently honored with a plaque on the Oiler Soccer Wall of Fame. The 2019 class of inductees has been released:

Jessica Booth played for the women's soccer team from 2003-2004 and graduated from the University of Findlay in 2006 with a degree in multi age physical education. In just two seasons, Jessica started 34 games, scored 24 goals with 5 assists for 53 points. She also scored 20 goals in her two years at Hillsdale College. She was a first team all-GLIAC selection in 2004 and second team in 2003. Jessica made the Daktronics first team all-Midwest Region in 2004 and second team in 2003. She was voted team MVP in 2004.

Erin Finnegan played for the women's soccer team from 2000 to 2003 and graduated from the University of Findlay in 2004 with a degree in hospitality management and a minor in business management. Erin was voted first team all-GLIAC in 2001, second team in 2002 and was team captain in 2003. She was the program's MVP in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

B.J. Goodwin played for the men's soccer team from 2006-2009 and graduated from the University of Findlay in 2010 with a degree in graphic communication.  He played in 60 games, starting 57, scored 16 goals and 14 assists for 46 career points. He was selected first team all-GLIAC in 2007 and was also voted Offensive Player of the Year; that same year he was accorded third team NSCAA all-Great Lakes Region honors. In 2009 he was second team all-GLIAC. He made the Daktronics second team all-region in 2007 and 2009 as well as academic all-GLIAC in 2008. In 2007 he was GLIAC player of the week twice on 9/10 and 9/24.  B.J.'s teammates voted him MVP in 2007 and 2009. He captained the team in 2009.

Matt Gillman played for the men's soccer team from 2003-2006 and graduated from the University of Findlay in 2007 with a double major in business management and small business entrepreneurship and minors in psychology and finance. He received his MBA in 2008. He was voted second team all-GLIAC in 2006 and 2005, NSCAA third team all-region in 2006 and academic all-GLIAC in 2004, 2005, and 2006. He was the Coca Cola Scholar Athlete award winner for Findlay in 2006 and 2007.

Matt played 53 games in his career with 1 goal and 2 assists as a defensive midfielder. He was team captain and MVP in 2006. He was an assistant coach for the University of Findlay from 2007 and 2008.

This is Matt's second induction, as he was a member of the 2003 team which was inducted into the Oiler Soccer Wall of Fame in 2013.

The ceremony will take place in between the men's and women's games on Saturday, October 5. The event is tentatively scheduled for 2pm.
