Oilers Come From Behind to Beat ODU 4-3

Box Score

The University of Findlay men's soccer team came from behind to defeat Ohio Dominican University by a score of 4-3 on Oct. 12 at DeHaven Field. The victory gives the Oilers a 7-3-1 record on the season with a 4-3-1 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.

The Oilers quickly fell behind by a score of 2-0 in the first 13 minutes of the game before senior Josh Dickinson got Findlay on the board by converting a penalty kick with just over 25 minutes gone in the opening half. Junior Josh Hales then tied the game at 2-2 in the 31st minute when he broke away and found the back of the net. The Oilers would then tack on another goal in the first half when senior Kegan Winkler scored off an assist from junior Peyton Trask.

The Panthers would start off the second half much like they did in the first as they got on the board to tie the game only three minutes into the period. Five minutes later, Hales would score his second goal of the game, which proved to be the game-winner, off of assists from freshman David Hug and junior Ben Bolinger.

Freshman Andrew Boulton picked up the win in goal for Findlay and made three saves in the contest.

The Oilers will now travel to Vienna, W. Va. to take on Ohio Valley University on Oct. 17 at 3:30pm.
