Oilers Lose 4-0 in Postponed Contest with Northwood

Box Score

Midland, MI- The University of Findlay Men's Soccer team traveled back to Midland MI to complete their postponed game, originally slated for Oct 6, against the Northwood University Timberwolves on Oct 18. Coming into the second day of play the Oilers possessed a 8-5-1 overall record and a 6-4-1 record in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The two teams completed 45 minutes of play on the original date with a 0-0 score when weather forced the teams to postpone the game.

Northwood would take advantage of the postponement as their offense struggled to get anything started on the original game day but would turn around and score 4 goals in the final 45 minutes of play.

Two of those goals would come before the 50th minute of the contest and the others would come in the 64th and 75th minute.

Senior Andrew Boulton started in goal for the Oilers and played the 45 minutes prior to the postponement allowing no goals and recording 2 saves. Senior Julio Gomes would play the remainder of the game in goal for Findlay recording 4 saves and allowing 4 goals.

With the loss the Oilers drop to 8-6-1 overall and 6-5-1 in the G-MAC. The Men will be back in action on thursday Oct. 20 when they travel to Tennessee to take on the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans at 8 PM.
