Oilers Fall in Championship to Dragons
The University of Findlay men's tennis team fell 4-2 against Tiffin University in the championship match of the 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament on April 27 in Owensboro, Ky. The loss gives the Oilers a 12-7 record on the season.
In singles competition, graduate transfer Tomas Kmetko claimed a No. 1 singles victory over S. de la Rosa Mora by a score of 7-5, 2-6, 6-1. Senior Carlos Blanco also scored a victory, winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 against Sorin Navrotchi.
In doubles action, Kmetko teamed with sophomore Jorge Barnuevo to defeated Toby Cutting and Nikita Parfenov 6-3.
