Pioneers Sweep Oilers in Canton

The University of Findlay softball team was swept by Malone University on April 10 in Canton, Ohio, losing 3-2 in the first game and 3-1 in the second. The losses evens the Oilers record at 17-17 on the season with a 7-7 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

Sophomore Caragyn Yanek took the loss in game one after allowing three runs, only two earned, on seven hits in six innings of action.

Freshman Lyndsey Seamon went 1-for-2 with one RBI while freshman Madelyn Turner batted in the other run on a sacrifice fly.

In game two, senior Hailey Bryan was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits in six innings of work.

The Oilers only managed three hits in the game coming from junior Rebecca Harvey, senior Salwa Al-Hajabed, and sophomore Dylan Wiley.

The Oilers will be back at it again on Saturday when they travel to Pepper Pike, Ohio for a twin bill against Ursuline College.
