Lane Leedy is entering her fifth season for the Oilers as their assistant coach during the 2023-24 campaign. Leedy has an overall record of 106-56 as the assistant coach of the Oilers.

The 2023 campaign ended in the Great Midwest Tournament Championship game where they fell to Hillsdale in the "if-necessary game." The Oilers finished the season with a 33-16 record and a 15-8 mark in conference play. Under Lowe's guidance, the fifth player in program history was named D2CCA All-Midwest.

Leedy helped lead the Oilers to arguably one of their best seasons in program history in 2022. The team captured their first ever regional berth in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship after posting a 38-16 record and an 18-4 record in conference play. Their 38 wins established a new program record for season wins, breaking the 1987 record of 35 wins. Under Leedy's assistance, two players were named D2CCCA All-Midwest, only the third and fourth players to earn the honor, as well as a NFCA All-Midwest first team selection, only the second player in progam history to pick up the honor.

Leedy came to the Oilers after serving as the head coach Black Hills State University from 2014-19. During her tenure with the Yellow Jackets she coached five all-conference players and six all-academic players.

Leedy spent the 2013-14 season as the interim head coach at the University of Toledo, leading the Rockets to its best season since 2005 while helping the school to its first season with a winning percentage of .500 or better on its home field.

Having extensive experience in the travel ranks, Leedy compiled a record of 232-67 over five years for the Ohio Stingrays. She helped lead the Stingrays to two ASA State Championships and a Regional PGF title. She also helped 57 of her players earn college scholarships.

Along with the travel experience, Leedy was the varsity assistant coach for Lexington High School and Tuscarawas Central Catholic. She was also the head coach of Newcomerstown High School where she led the program to its first-ever winning record along with a sectional championship and district runner-up performances.

Leedy began her career as a player for Bluffton University as a three-way starter.  Her squad was the 2004 Heartland HCAC Conference Champions and earned a ranking as high as 21st in the nation in NCAA Division III.
