Oilers Come Up Short at Saginaw

Results

Saginaw, MI – The University of Findlay men and women swimming and diving teams competed against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals on Saturday, October 27. The women fell 147 to 141, while the men were defeated 182 to 114 to the Cardinals.

Women's Results

In the 200 yard medley relay, the Oilers finished first with a time of 1:47.36. The relay team consisted of Chris McFarland, Kristina Coleman, Katy Kouvaris, and Amanda Stiegal.

Stiegal also finished in first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.45. McFarland swam the 100 yard backstroke and had a first place finishing time of 58.49.

Hanna Cederholm secured a close first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a final time of 1:05.37.

Kendra Polewski proved to be the fastest in freestyle, winning all three individual races. She finished the 50 yard in 24.56, the 100 yard in 53.00, and the 500 yard in 5:06.58.

 The Oilers also came in first place in the 400 yard freestyle relay with finishing time of 3:38.29. The relay team consisted of Kendra Polewski, Amanda Stiegal, Chris McFarland, and Julia Snell.

Men's Results

Trae Gulgin came in first place in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke with a finishing times of 53.51 and 1:57.82 respectively.

In the 100 yard breaststroke, Isaac Stretch finished first with a time of 1.00.27.

Jared Toaz won the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:19.20.

The men won the 400 yard freestyle relay with a finishing time of 3:14.06. The relay team consisted of Trent Williams, Conner Whitaker, Trae Gulgin, and Mark Billeaud.

 

The Oilers will be home at the Sink Natatorium on Friday, November 2 to take on Ohio Wesleyan at 6:00 PM.
