Oilers Fall To GVSU in Last Home Meet

Results

Findlay, OH – The University Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams competed in their last home meet in the Sink Natatorium on Friday, January 11 against the Grand Valley Lakers. The Oilers fell to the Lakers, 171 to 62 for the men, and 143 to 97 for the women.

Men's Results

Dalton Shevlin took first in the men's 3 meter diving with a score of 274.50. He also took second in the 1 meter diving with a score of 258.40.

Nathan Ladetto took second place in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:01.69. Trae Gulgin also took second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 53.50.

Isaac Stretch finished a close race in the 100 yard breaststroke, with a second place with a time of 59.43.

For the final event of the night, the men took second in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:28.05. The relay team consisted of Nathan Bourne, Mark Billeaud, Conner Whitaker, and Trent Williams.

Women's Results

For the first event of the night, the women took first in the 200 yard medley relay with at time of 1:46.74. The relay team consisted of Chris McFarland, Hanna Cederholm, Katy Kouvaris, and Amanda Stiegal.

Amanda Stiegal came in first with a time of 24.80 in the 50 yard free. McFarland came in close behind her to take second with a time of 24.88.

McFarland also took first in the 100 yard backstroke with a final time of 58.42.

Hanna Cederholm claimed first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:10.05. She also took first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.34.

Kendra Polewski took second in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:55.24.

The women closed out the night in the 200 yard free relay with a first place finish. The relay team consisted of Kendra Polewski, Jenna Dasher, Olivia Wile, and Julia Snell. Their final time was 1:40.84.

 

The Oilers will back in the pool on Friday, January 18 in Detroit, Michigan. They will be facing Wayne State at 5:00 PM.
