Oilers Finish Davenport Quad

Results

The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams completed the Davenport Quad on Nov. 2 in Grand Rapids, Mich. The women finished second with 902.50 points while the men took third with 884 points.

On the women's side, Chris McFarland, Hanna Cederholm, Katy Kouvaris, and Kristina Coleman won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.14. Cederholm also won the 100-yard butterfly at 59.07, narrowly edging out Kouvaris, who finished second at 59.90. Cederholm was also victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:05.69 and Coleman was second in the event with a time of 1:07.73. Cederholm secured another first place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:24.01 as well.

McFarland won the 100-yard backstroke at 59.66, Megan Irwin won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.91, Ashton Klopp finished first in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:14.30, and Sydney Zimdars was first in the 1650-yard freestyle at 18:27.35.

Sarah Miles recorded a runner-up finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:12.10, earning victories over Hope and Kalamazoo.

On the men's side, Findlay's 200-yard medley relay team of Jaegar Loran, Isaac Stretch, Tim Stollings, and Colin Martin were victorious with a time of 1:34.61. Stollings also won the 100-yard butterfly at 50.48 and Stretch scored a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke at 59.05 and another one in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:13.68.

Loran was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke at 52.31 while Stollings finished second in the event at 53.57. Paul Pavala also secured a first place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:58.37.

Jared Touz finished second overall in the 400-yard IM at 4:25.14 and earned a victory against Hope in the event while the Oilers 400-yard freestyle relay team of Trent Williams, Stretch, Martin, and Alex Wisler were the runner-up with a time of 3:13.72, scoring a win over Kalamazoo.

Nathan Bourne finished third overall in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:49.56, scoring a victory over Kalamazoo in the event, while Martin was third overall in the 100-yard freestyle at 48.14 to give him a win over Kalamazoo.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Nov. 9 when they hit the road to face Ohio Wesleyan.
