Garcia Earns Fifth Career Athlete of the Week Honor

Findlay, Ohio – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) released their selections for Athlete of the Week on Monday, Jan. 16 and, swimming and diving, Findlay's Daniel Garcia picked up the honor on the men's side.

Garcia had a standout showing against stiff competition last Saturday. He wound up taking first place in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke, finishing with times of 55.53 and 2:03.94, respectively. His time in the 100 breast was good enough for an NCAA B standard.

He swam in the 200 individual medley where he finished runner-up with a time of 1:51.07, also an NCAA B cut.

His fourth event was the 200 medley relay where teamed up with Tim Stollings, Camilo Marrugo, and Angel Margaritov to finish runner-up with a 1:29.49.

This is the fifth Athlete of the Week honor of Garcia's career and the third this season.
