Henry Wins National Title | Breaks NCAA DII Record

The University of Findlay outdoor track and field team wrapped up the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship on May 25 in Kingsville, Texas. The group was led by Eldred Henry, who won a national title in the shot put.

Henry, who also claimed a national title in the event during the indoor season, blew away the field with a heave of 21.47 meters (70'05.25). The throw established a new NCAA Division II record and also set a new Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) and school record and is the seventh-best in the world this year. Henry also holds the NCAA Division II record in the shot put for indoor competition.

Austin Combs also took part in the shot put and finished 21st with a throw of 16.53 meters (54'00.50) while Hannah Hahler competed in the event on the women's side and finished 17th at 14.41 meters (47'03.50).

As a team, the men's squad finished 16th with 18 points while the women did not score.
