Oilers Complete Last Chance Meet at Hillsdale

The University of Findlay men and women's outdoor track and field teams sent athletes to the Hillsdale Last Chance meet on May 13 in Hillsdale, Mich.

On the men's side, junior Sterling Mungro won the hammer throw with a NCAA automatic qualifying toss of 67.99 meters and took second in the shot put with a provisional throw of 17.65 meters.

Senior Dequan Lovell finished second in the discus throw with a provisional mark of 50.32 meters while freshman Orry Willems was eighth in the hammer throw with a provisional throw of 57.18 meters.

The Oilers 4x100-meter relay team also achieved a provisional time in their event as sophomore Michael Nichols, freshman Isaac Webb, junior Ethan Pensante, and junior Xavier Marable took second place after crossing the finish line in 40.90.

On the women's side, sophomore Lindsey Kluesener recorded a first place finish in the pole vault with a provisional qualifying mark of 4.06 meters while junior Brooke Mangas took home the gold in the high jump at 1.65 meters.

Sophomore Paige Emnett finished third in the shot put with a provisional throw of 14.15 meters while junior Meadow Cromer was sixth in the pole vault with a provisional mark of 3.76 meters.

Sophomore Simone Green was third in the long jump at 5.53 meters while junior Michaela Butler was third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.15.
