Oilers Compete at the "BIG MEET" at Grand Valley State University

Results

Allendale, Michigan- The University of Findlay Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the Grand Valley State University "BIG MEET" in Allendale Michigan on friday Feb 11.

Women's Results

The women had a strong showing with three serpate people hitting NCAA provisional. Freshmen Trista Fintel placed first in Womens Shot Put throwing 13.88m which beats the NCAA provisional mark. Sophomore Paige Emnett placed fourth in the Womens Shot Put Invite with a throw of 14.10m which also broke the NCAA provisional mark. Freshmen Madison Myers placed fifth in the Womens long jump with a jump of 5.56m. In the Womens Long Jump Invite sophomore Simone Green placed 4th with a jump of 5.90m which passes the NCAA provisional mark. Freshman Kylie Ray, Junior Haley Robinett, sophomore Bethany Smith, and freshmen Taylor Ivory also finished strong in the 4x400M relay placing 8th with a time of 3:59.87.

In the women's 5k, junior Gabrielle Lawrence set a new Findlay program record, finsihing in 12th in her heat with a time of 17:11.36.

Men's Results

They men had strong finishes on day as well with two NCAA provisional being met. The first was senior Gabe Makin who placed first in the mens pole vault clearing a height of 5.02M. The second provisional being met was in the Mens Long Jump Invite where Eliot Cummings jumped 6.90M which earned him seventh place. Freshmen Chris Campbell came in second in the Mens Long Jump with a distance of 6.97M. Senior Martin Etsey placed fourth in the Mens Triple Jump Invite with a distance of 14.05M. Freshmen Dylan Reason, Freshmen Isaac Webb, Freshmen Joe Sadowski and Junior Xaview Marble placed 8th in the men 4x400M with a time of 3:22.04. Rounding it off for the men Junior Cameron Stine placed 10th in the Mens High Jump with a height of 1.91M.

In the men's 5k, freshman Noah Fisher took down the Findlay record, finishing in a time of 14:35.74, good for 15th in his heat.

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow Feb 12th when they head to Tiffin University in Tiffin Ohio to compete in the Reggie Thomas Classic.
