Oilers Have Record Setting Day at Grand Valley's Big Meet Day Two

Results 

Allendale Michigan- The University of Findlay Men's and Women's Track and Field team competed in day two of the Grand Valley State University BIG MEET on Saturday Feb 12.  

Women's Results- 

The Women had themselves a day with a broken record and 23 top 15 finishes in their respective events. In the 60 Meter Dash freshmen Nicole Fishpaw finished 6th with a time of 7.86 seconds while her freshmen counterpart Jordan Taylor finished 10th with a time of 7.98 seconds. Fishpaw also placed 7th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.88 seconds. Freshmen Taylor Ivory finished right behind her in 8th place with a time of 25.97 seconds. In the 400-meter dash Freshmen Kylie Ray took 4th with a time of 57.95 seconds, Freshmen Ivory Taylor took 10th with a time of 58.57 seconds and freshmen Bethany Smith finished in 15th with a time of 59.72 seconds. In the 60-meter hurdles freshmen Kylie Ray secured 5th with a finishing time of 9.04 seconds and sophomore Kenedi Hayden took 11th finishing in 9.23 seconds. Moving on to the jumping events the Women did just as well. Sophomore Alexis Fries finished 8th in the high jump clearing 1.48 meters. In the pull vault the number 3 nationally ranked Oilers took places 2 through 5 with Sophomore Morgan England, Sophomore Lindsey Kluesener, Junior Meadow Cromer, and Senior Savanah Amato (unattached) jumped 3.96 meters, 3.96 meters, 3.96 meters, and 3.86 meters respectively. For the women's triple jump freshmen Madison Myers took 4th place with a jump of 10.89 meters. In the throwing events the Oilers held their own with 6 top 15 finishes. Freshmen Trista Fintel took first with a throw of 14 meters which met an NCAA provisional mark. Sophomore Paige Emnett also met the provisional mark with a throw of 13.76 meters which earned her second place in the event. Freshmen Kelsey Kennon placed 14th with a throw of 11.51 meters and Sophomore Brynlee Hanneman took 15th with a throw of 11.34 meters. Emnett also earned herself a 5th place finish in the Weight Throw clearing a distance on 16.07 meters. Kennon took 7th with a throw of 15.41 meters and Hanneman took 14th with a distance of 14.58 meters on her throw.  

To top it off for the Women's team, Sophomore Simone Green took first in the triple jump where she broke her own school record of 39 feet 5 ½ inches (12.02 meters) by jumping 40 feet 3 ¼ inches (12.27 meters) which is almost 2 feet past the NCAA provisional mark. 

Men's Results- 

The Men's team also had themselves a day with double digit top 15 finishes. Freshmen Dylan Reason took 3rdin the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.01 seconds. Junior Lane Kolb finished fractions of a second behind with a time of 50.18 seconds to take 4th place. Freshmen Isaac Webb also took 11th in the event with a finishing time of 51.31 seconds. In the 800 meter run freshmen Joe Sadowski took 15th with a time of 1:56.60. In the Distance medley the team of freshmen Simon Derstine, Junior Xavier Marable, freshmen Gabriel Foster, and freshmen Jordan Foster took 14th with a time of 10:02.82 which met the NCAA provisional mark. In the jumping events senior Martin Etsey was able to take 10th in the long jump with a distance of 5.95 meters. In the men's shot put the Oilers took 6th and 7th with throws from freshmen Tresnan-Rieghard (14.68 meters) and junior Max Prenger (14.60 meters). In the weight throw Prenger took home 2nd with a throw of 17.95 meters which met an NCAA provisional mark. Freshmen Orry Willems took 6th place with a throw of 16.51 meters, freshmen Zac Belanich took 7th with 15.83 meters, and Tresnan-Rieghard took 8th with 15.76 meters.
