Oilers Finish Flames Invitational | Women Third, Men Fifth

Cleveland, Tenn.– The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the Flames Invitational hosted by Lee University today, Apr. 9. The seventeenth-ranked women's team came in third in the event and the men's team came in fifth.  

Women's Results 

Competing in the women's long jump was sophomore Madison Myers. She took fifth place with a distance of 5.42m (17'9.50"). The Oiler's 4x100 team finished in third place. The team consisted of Nicole Fishpaw, Taylor Ivory, Jordan Taylor, and Michaela Butler. The team finished in a time of 48:03. They finished 0.94 seconds behind the first-place team, West Alabama. Sophomore Kylie Ray finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.87 seconds. This marks her personal best and is also is tenth in program history.   

Men's Results 

Sophomore Elliot Cummings took first in the long jump. His best jump came on his second attempt. He edged out Emmanuel College's (GA) Kevin Wood by 0.03m to capture the title with a jump of 6.95m (22'3.75"). The Oiler's 4x100 team finished in fifth place, The team consisted of Josh Verhoff, Ethan Pensante, Dylan Reason, and Hassan Sesay. The team finished with a time of 41:88.   

The Oilers will continue their season on Apr. 15, 16, 17 at the Tiffleberg Meet in Tiffin, Ohio.
