Oilers Win Big on Senior Day

The University of Findlay women's basketball team claimed an 81-55 win over Hillsdale College on Feb. 24 in Croy Gymnasium. The senior day win gives the Oilers a 20-6 record on the season with a 17-5 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Their 20 wins this season are the most since they piled up 24 victories during the 2012-13 campaign.

Junior forward Anna Hintz paced the Oilers with 23 points and eight rebounds while senior guard Haley Horstman had 19 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals.

Senior guard Lynsey Englebrecht also reached double figures with 12 points on the strength of a 4-of-8 showing from three point range.

Junior guard Jenna Stegmaier stuffed the stat sheet with seven points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists while junior guard Allie Thobe had six points and a pair of assists.

Senior guard Emily Molnar came off the bench to provide four points, four rebounds and three assists in her final home game while senior guard Kendyl Hinton recorded four points, one assist and one rebounds.

The Oilers will now prepare for the 2018 G-MAC Tournament, which will take place on March 1-3 in Cedarville, Ohio. The Oilers have earned the No. 3 seed and will face Ohio Dominican in the opening round.
