Oilers Cruise to 81-56 Win over Ursuline

The University of Findlay women's basketball team cruised to an 81-56 win over Ursuline College on Dec. 13 in the Croy Physical Education Center. The victory gives the Oilers a 5-2 record on the season.

The Oilers got off to a blistering start, pulling out to a 50-23 lead at the break. Findlay shot 50 percent (20-of-40) from the floor in the opening half and canned 7-of-17 (41.2%) attempts from behind the three point line. They cooled off a bit in the second half but it didn't matter as they moved their record to 3-2 on the year in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

Senior forward Anna Hintz led the way with her fifth double-double of the season as she finished with 21 points and ten rebounds. Hintz made 8-of-14 attempts from the field and splashed 3-of-7 tries from three point land.

Senior guard Allie Thobe also reached double figures with 12 points. Thobe also contributed seven rebounds and three assists in the victory.

Sophomore guard Madison Stolly came off the bench to provide a career-high nine points while senior guard Elissa Ellerbrock had eight points, six rebounds and five assists.

Freshman center Sydney Kin posted six points and a career-high nine rebounds while senior forward Dana Fricke had five points and seven boards.

As a team, the Oilers shot 41.9 percent (31-of-74) from the floor and held a 58-38 advantage on the boards. They also held the Arrows to a mere 27.1 percent (19-of-70) shooting clip in the game.

The Oilers will return to Croy on Saturday to host Lake Erie College at 1pm.
