Pepper Pike, Ohio  - The University of Findlay women's basketball team clinched a berth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship tournament on Saturday, Feb. 16 after a convincing 76-50 victory over the Ursuline Arrows. With the win, Findlay improves to 17-6 overall with a 13-5 mark in league action while Ursuline falls to 8-16 overall and 7-11 in the conference.

Just as they did in Thursday's game against Lake Erie, the Oilers jumped out to a double-digit lead early on, taking a 13-3 through the first nine minutes of action. After a few traded baskets by the teams, Findlay went on a 24-12 run over a six-and-a-half minute stretch to take a 39-19 lead into the half.

The second half again was controlled by Findlay as they cruised to a 26-point victory.

Senior Elissa Ellerbrock put together a career-high with 24 points on 6-of-13 from the floor including three shots made from deep. A big chunk of her scoring came from the charity stripe where she sunk 9-of-11, both career-highs. Ellerbrock also had seven rebounds and led the team with three assists to round out one of the best performances of her career.

Fellow senior Anna Hintz made it back-to-back double-doubles as she scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. With her 12 points scored, Hintz is now tied with Audra Mihalic (2007-10) for third on the Oilers' all-time scoring list. Hintz also added a pair of steals, a block, and an assist.

Coming off the bench to score double-digit points for the fourth time this season was senior Lauren Ruth. She scored ten points on 4-of-7 from the floor including a pair of triples. Senior Allie Thobe scored six points and tied a career-high with eight rebounds while senior Jenna Stegmaier scored four points and was second on the squad with nine boards.

Freshman Lily Simon and Bridget Landin each played in the final five minutes of action and each scored five points.

Findlay will remain on the road next week when they travel to take on Ohio Dominican in Columbus on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 5:30pm.
