Oilers Take 4th at Austin Peay
The University of Findlay women's golf team took fourth place as the only NCAA Division II program at the F&M Bank Austin Peay Intercollegiate with a 54-hole score of 924. The Oilers shot a 314 in round one and followed with a 306 in the second. They then posted a 304 during the third round, which was completed on Oct. 2.
Makenzie Torres led the Oilers at the event and tied for 14th. Torres carded a three-round score of 230 (78, 73, 79) at the tournament.
Kristina Kniesly tied for 17th with a 231 (79, 75, 77) while Samantha Kellstrom tied for 22nd with a 233 (81, 79, 73).
Meredith Wipper tied for 24th with a 234 (80, 79, 75) and Samantha Hatter placed 29th with a 236 (77, 80, 79) to round out the Oilers team scoring.
Individually, Jill Schmitmeyer tied for 34th with a 241 (76, 82, 83) while Mikaela Hickey posted a 242 (82, 82, 78) to tie for 36th.
The Oilers will hit the links again on Oct. 7-8 at the William Beall Fall Classic, which will be held at the Findlay Country Club.
