Oilers Lead NC4K Classic After Day 1

The University of Findlay women's golf team is in first place after the first day of competition at the NC4K Classic as they wrapped up action on April 8 with a score of 301. The Oilers are five strokes ahead of the University of Indianapolis and six strokes better than Ohio Dominican University.

Junior Meredith Wipper had a great day for Findlay and is tied for first at the event with a 2-under par score of 70. Wipper posted five birdies during the round and also had 11 pars.

Senior Makenzie Torres and freshman Jill Schmitmeyer are tied for eighth as they each posted a 3-over par score of 75 while senior Samantha Hatter is tied for 15th with a 5-over par score of 77.

Sophomore Kristina Kniesly is in a tie for 25th with a 79 and junior Samantha Kellstrom is tied for 41st with an 82.

The final day of competition is slated for tomorrow.
