#8 Regis (Colo.) Tops Oilers 17-13

Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team fell to the #8 Regis University (Colo.) Rangers with a final score of 13-17. The Oilers are now 2-6 on the season.

The Oilers took a 3-0 lead within the first five minutes of the game. Regis fought back and cut the Oiler's lead until goals were being scored back and forth for both teams until the score reached 5-5 at the end of the half.

In the second half, the Rangers put a goal in right away and then four more shortly after to take a five goal lead. The Oilers fought hard and scored a goal to end the Ranger's run to get back in the game.

With 15 minutes remaining the game, the Oilers were able to cut the Ranger's lead by scoring four more goals to put the score at 11-10. The Oilers put three more goals on the board but were unable to catch Regis to finish the game with a score of 13-17.

Freshman Danielle Dilorenzo led the way for the Oilers with four goals, two ground balls, and one caused turnover.

Senior Brie Caruso contributed three goals and two caused turnovers. Senior Hannah Peebles also chipped in with three goals and had two assists.

Freshman Kendra Lindell had two goals while junior Ciara Burud had one goal, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers. Senior Jacelyn Litman had two assists and three ground balls.

Junior Brittany Stephens had five ground balls and two caused turnovers while sophomore Jordan Reineke picked up two ground balls, two draw controls, and one caused turnover. Senior Emma Spellman had three caused turnovers and two ground balls.

Senior Claire Ferrell started in net for the Oilers and had seven saves and three ground balls. Rachel Bornstein also had two saves in the loss.

Findlay will be playing back at home on Wednesday, March 20 against Colorado Mesa University. The contest is set to begin at 4:00PM.
