Oilers Win 12-11 in OT Against Walsh

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team defeated Walsh University by a score of 12-11 in overtime on April 30 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The win gives the Oilers a 6-6 record on the season with a 4-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers had a four-goal lead at 10-6 with just under ten minutes to play before the Cavaliers ripped off three straight goals to make the score 10-9 with 5:57 remaining. Sophomore Emma Heinrich would then score with 4:28 left to push the Findlay lead to two at 11-9 before Walsh scored two goals in the final minute to force overtime. In the extra session, junior Mackenzie Cole scored the golden goal for the Oilers only 1:36 into overtime.

Sophomore Izzy Murphy-Morrow had three goals and an assist to lead Findlay while junior Adriana Santucci and freshman Paige Falk recorded two goals apiece. Seniors Allie Kasprzyck and Ciara Burud each had a goal and two assists for the Oilers as well.

Senior Hallie Canfield caused four turnovers and picked up seven ground balls while junior Kendra Lindell scored a goal, won three draws, and recorded three ground balls.

Junior Rachel Bornstein picked up the win and made nine saves.

The Oilers will now prepare for the G-MAC Tournament, which will take place on May 6-8.
