Oilers Advance to Championship With 17-12 Win

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team advanced to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship with a 17-12 win over Ashland University on May 5 in Canton, Ohio. The victory gives the Oilers an 11-6 record on the season.

Senior Danielle Dilorenzo had a huge game for Findlay and finished with eight goals and an assist. She scored the first three goals of the game and came up with three more in a row in the third quarter when the Oilers trailed by a score of 9-8. Her third quarter scoring spree put the Oilers in front for good. She then tacked on two more in the fourth to make sure the Oilers headed to the championship game.

Freshman Olivia Alvarado finished with three goals while senior Allie Kasprzyk scored two and assisted on two others.

Senior Kendra Lindell added two goals and eight draw controls while seniors Ashleigh Lesser and Adriana Santucci each scored a goal as well.

Senior Rachel Bornstein played well in goal, making 15 saves to pick up her tenth win of the season. Her ten wins tie the school record for most wins in a season.

The Oilers will now face Walsh University on May 7 in the championship game. The contest is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. in Canton, Ohio.
