Lauren Simko is entering her fourth year as the Oilers lacrosse coach in 2020. Simko, who was hired to take over the program on Sep. 2, 2016, has posted an overall record of 32-24 during her time at Findlay. She has coached 18 student-athletes to all-conference honors including nine first team performers.

Simko led the Oilers to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship in 2019 as they claimed a 9-8 victory over Tiffin University on May 4. The conference title was a first for the Oilers lacrosse team. The Oilers ended the 2019 campaign with a 10-9 record.

In 2018, Simko led the Oilers to a school record 15-4 record. They reached the finals of the G-MAC Tournament and led all of NCAA Division II in scoring defense, allowing a mere 5.42 goals per game. Their 11.37 scoring margin was also the top mark in the nation among NCAA Division II programs.

In her first season in charge of the Oilers during the 2017 campaign, Simko led the Oilers to a 7-11 record and a berth in the GLIAC Tournament.

Simko comes to Findlay after serving as the head coach at the University of Dallas during the 2016 season. She also served as the head coach at Cornell from 2013-15 and was responsible for starting their women's lacrosse program.

Before starting the lacrosse program at Cornell, Simko was a graduate assistant coach at Lake Erie from 2011-13 and also had a hand in beginning that program.

A native of Ontario, Canada, Simko was a standout player at NCAA Division II Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Simko earned an athletic scholarship to play lacrosse for the Bobcats, and suited up three seasons as the starting midfielder. The two-time team captain was named team most valuable player her junior season. She earned a spot on the Conference Carolinas all-academic team in 2010 and 2011.

Simko earned her bachelor of science in physical education along with a teachers' license at Lees-McRae. She added a master's in business administration from Lake Erie in May 2013.
