Roughnecks Finish 1-2 At Greyhound Duals in Indianapolis
The #9 ranked University of Findlay Wrestling team competed on day one of the Greyhound Duals in Indianapolis Indiana on Feb 5. The Oilers ended the day 1-2 with losses to both Notre Dame (Ohio) (24-19) and Indianapolis (37-3). Findlay finished the first day of competition on a high note beating Glenville State College (30-17).
Junir Branson Proudlock lead the Roughnecks ending the day 3-0. Branson is currently ranked second in the nation in Division II for the 141 weight class. He recorded a 9-0 Major Decision win against Dylan Burnoski of Notre Dame, a 6-1 decision win over Ray Rioux of Indianapolis, and ended his day with a Tech Fall win over Ethan Hardy of Glenville State College 19-1.
Senior Zach Collins finished the day 2-1 with a 7-2 decision win over Brett Strandahl on Notre Dame (Ohio) and a 3-2 decision over Kevin Meloni of Glenville State College. Junior Hunter Reed also picked up 2 wins for the Roughnecks with two pins. The first coming at 6:26 against Hank Carey of Notre Dame (Ohio) and the second at 2:21 against Hunter DeLong of Glenville State College.
Junior Jacob Charette and Sophomore Gavin Ritter also earned wins for Findlay on the day.
