Bio

Kurt Leonard enters his 32nd season as an assistant coach for The University of Findlay wrestling program in 2020-21. Leonard will work with the wrestlers in all phases of training.

Leonard was born in Bellevue, Ohio. A 1971 graduate of Clyde High School, he had a 22-5-1 record as a senior. He was a sectional champion, placing third at districts and sixth at the state meet his senior year. Leonard was a four-year wrestler at Bowling Green State University. He graduated from Bowling Green in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Leonard was a Mid-American Conference Scholar-Athlete his junior year.

From 1975-80, Leonard worked as a reporter for The Fostoria Review Times, Elyria Chronicle-Telegram and The Findlay Courier. Since 1981 he has been the city editor at The Courier.

Leonard is a quiet leader who is dependable. He has many wrestling skills and a vast knowledge of wrestling that are needed to get the job done. He resides in Findlay with his twin daughters, Jamie and Alison.
