Findlay, OH - The University of Findlay women's soccer team improved to 4-10-1 on the season and 2-6-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play after a 1-0 victory over the Walsh Cavaliers on Friday, October 21.

The Oilers lone goal came just 12 minutes into the game when freshman Sierra Peacock broke through traffic and punched the ball past the Cavs goalie to give Findlay the 1-0 lead. The goal was her sixth of the season and was her second game-winner of the year.

After halftime, Walsh turned up the pressure as they blasted seven shots in the second half but junior goalkeeper Bre Parrish was perfect as she recorded her first shutout and win of the season. Parrish finished with six saves in the match.

Freshman Ashley Rings led Findlay with four shots, two of which were on goal, while Peacock took three shots, two on goal.

Findlay will play next on Sunday, Oct. 23 when they travel to Painesville to take on the Lake Erie College Storm. That game will begin at 1:00 pm.
