Box Score

Owensboro, KY – The University of Findlay women's soccer team played on the road on Thursday, September 13 at 6:00 PM for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference match up against Kentucky Wesleyan. This is the second time the Oilers have seen the Panthers this season following a tie game that took place on September 2. This time around, the Oilers shut out the Panthers with a final score of 4-0. This improves Findlay's record to 4-0-1 and gives Kentucky Wesleyan a 1-3-1 record on the season.

The Oilers were quick to attack the goal with two shots in the first five minutes of play. Their intensity payed off with the first goal of the game going to sophomore Shannon Marsh (6:15) which was assisted by sophomore Karleigh Clere. Findlay led 1-0 at the end of the first period.

Findlay started the second period with just as much intensity as the first, as freshman Olivia Frank was able to find Shannon Marsh (47:44) for her second goal of the game. The Oilers were now leading 2-0 over the Panthers.

Late in the second period, a Panthers foul led to a goal scoring penalty kick that was shot by senior Megan Kupetz (75:19). The goal continued the scoring momentum for Findlay and they never looked back. In the 81st minute, sophomore Madison VanCucha was able to get the ball to Megan Kupetz to score her second goal of the night, making it impossible for the Panthers to make a comeback.

The Oilers defense played a great game in holding Kentucky Wesleyan to 13 shots, none of which made it past junior Anna Money in goal. She picked up 6 saves in the shut out.

The Oilers will play on the road again at Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday, September 15 at 2:00 PM.
