Oilers Victorious Versus the Arrows

Pepper Pike, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer competed against Great Midwest Athletic Conference competitior Ursuline College on Sunday, September 29. The Oilers won the contest by a 3-1 score to move their record to 4-0-1 (2-0-1) while the Arrows move to 2-2-1 (1-1-1).

The Oilers came out of the gates to put the pressure on the Arrows. The Oilers went on to score all three of their goals in the first 30 minutes of the game.

Freshman Jayla Campbell highlighted the Oilers throughout the game. Campbell had goals in the 14th minute off an assist by freshman Sam Francis and in the 25th minute from an assist by sophomore Sydney Demyan. Campbell's two goals on the afternoon were her first two goals of her collegiate career after having a game-high 8 shots on the contest.

The Oilers captured another goal scored when sophomore Olivia Frank scored off an assist by senior Sierra Peacock in the 30th minute. 

The Arrows went on to score their lone goal in the 57th minute, but the Oilers held on for their fourth victory of the season, and second victory in the conference.

After doubling the Arrows in shots taken 22-11, the Oilers were able to take advantage of their pressure on the goal. Along with Campbell's 8 shots taken, Peacock took 4, and Sam Francis, Olivia Frank, and Paige Casto had 2 a piece.

Senior Anna Money had 4 saves in the contest playing a s goalkeeper while junior Nicole Burke added 1 save as well.

The Oilers will look to continue their success on the year against another conference opponent in Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday, October 3 wehn they begin their four game home stretch at DeHaven Field.
