Six Different Oilers Score in 6-0 Victory

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team played at DeHaven Field on Thursday, October 3 against the visiting Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers. After a slow start and a halftime score tied at 0-0, the Oilers were able to score six goals by six different players. With the victory, the Oilers move to 5-0-1 and 3-0-1 in the conference.

Six goals were scored in 45 minutes of play for the Oilers all coming in the second half. Starting the scoring off for the Oilers was sophomore Sydney Demyan after booting one from outside the box in the 59th minute for her first career goal. Demyan would make an impact once again in a matter of a minute with an assist to freshman Jayla Campbell for the second goal of the contest in the 53rd minute.

Senior Sierra Peacock contributed to the goal scoring in the 57th minute from an assist by Jayla Campbell to make the score 3-0 in Findlay's favor. Other senior Ashley Rings scored the fourth goal for the Oilers in the 67th minute, then assisted junior Madision VanCucha in the 82nd minute for the fifth goal by the Oilers. VanCucha's goal marks her first goal of her Oiler career.

The final goal of the evening came from freshman Addie Graham in the 89th minute.

The Oilers outshot the Panthers by a 20-5 margin including 14 on goal. Graham led the Oilers with 6 shots all being on goal. Along with Graham, nine other Oilers had shots taken in the game.

Defensively, the Oilers remained solid as they have been all season to secure their third shutout victory.

The Oilers will be back in action Saturday, October 5 for another home contest. They will face off against Trevecca Nazarene University for a 12:00 p.m. scheduled start.
