Peacock and Ahbe Earn G-MAC Players of the Week

Findlay, Ohio - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced their women's soccer Player of the Week selections on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The Oilers, currently 6-0-1 on the year, swept the awards as the Offensive Player of the Week was given to senior Sierra Peacock while junior Lindsey Ahbe earned Defensive Player of the Week. Findlay racked up a pair of wins in the previous week, earning a 6-0 win against Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday and a 2-0 win against Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday.

Sierra Peacock had a great couple of games last week as she tallied three goals on seven shots. She began the week with a single goal in Thursday's blanking of Kentucky Wesleyan and followed that up with both of Findlay's goals in a 2-0 shutout of TNU. Peacock, Findlay's leading goal-scorer in 2016 and 2017, now ranks fourth in the G-MAC in points per game with 2.00 and is tied for fourth with five goals scored this season.

A native of Green, Ohio, junior Lindsey Ahbe earned her first Defensive Player of the Week selection this year after captaining a defense that shut out a pair of conference opponents. With Ahbe marking KWC and TNU's top forwards, the Oilers limited the opposition to just 11 shots and no goals on the week. It is the second time in her career that she has earned Player of the Week honors.

Findlay has a big week ahead as they host conference contenders Cedarville on Thursday and rival Ohio Dominican on Saturday.
